Common questions

Where is my progress saved?

On your device. There are no accounts, so deleting the app deletes your hero. To keep a copy or move to another device, open Options and use Save code: create the code, keep it somewhere safe, and load it on the other device.

I played the earlier web version. Is my hero gone?

No. Update the app on the same device and open it: the new version finds your old save once and brings your hero along, with the same bag and the same quests.

How do I play with friends?

Co-op is for friends who are close to each other, up to 8 heroes. It needs no internet and no shared Wi-Fi network: the devices connect directly over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Everyone needs the same version of the game, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on.
Open the co-op screen on every device. One player hosts (a private party or an open world); the others tap Find a friend nearby and pick the host.
The first time, iOS asks for permission to find devices on your local network: tap Allow.

If nobody shows up, check that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on, that Local Network is allowed for RUSTLANDS in Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, that you all have the co-op screen open, and that you are close to each other. If a join is refused, update the game on every device. Online play over the internet is not available yet.

Does the game need the internet?

No. RUSTLANDS plays fully offline.

My phone gets warm, or the game feels slow.

Options has Heat care: when the phone gets hot, the game eases off by itself until it cools. Cool mode keeps the effects lighter all the time, so the phone heats up less. You can also pick a lower Frame rate; it saves battery and heat on long sessions.

Can I use a game controller?

Yes. Connect a controller in your device's Bluetooth settings and it works in the game.

Are there ads or purchases? How do I restore a purchase?

No ads and no loot boxes. This version has no in-app purchases, so there is nothing to restore. If optional purchases are added later, the game will have a Restore Purchases button that brings back what you bought with the same Apple Account, and this page will say where to find it.

What data does the game collect?
